Hello. Please check your email? I sent you email.
Hi,
Good evening.
Still couldn’t figure out how I should address you as I could not find your name in your site … Eva? ( base on evawanday@yahoo.com )
I am writing from Singapore and thought maybe you can help me understand more of Brunei trade. Yes, we know Brunei is an oil rich kingdom , unfortunately oil isn’t our topic to be discussed.
Basically, we would like to participate in a trade show in Brunei but it seems we are having difficulties in locating them… i mean the trade organsier.
We are interested in bringing some electronic gadgets into Brunei and to do it , trade show will be more appropriate.
In addition , we hope to bring in LED lightings into Brunei and these lightings can be incorporated with ornaments to make it even more attractive.
We plan to make an early presentation prior to Hari Raya Season as production takes time due to the raw materials.
Right after Hari Raya will be the Christmas and New Year lighting preparation .
I will be able to show you the packaging of our lightings in our next email just to give you an idea .
Or, we could find someone whom we can co-operate in Brunei , say , a business owner/ factories etc… where they do have a network in Brunei retailing outlets.
Hope to hear from you… thanks.
Best Regards
Patrick Gay

I also received the “petai” email from a friend recently. Stumbled upon your web blog while “researching” about this wonder el-stinko! Petai, o petai – like durians, you either hate it of love it. I only came to do the latter a few years ago. Enjoy the smaller variety (called petai padi in Malaysia): eating sambal is never the same again! Of course, things (the emails)like this are hard to verify especially when they sound all-too-good. Anyway, it’s still a natural fruit (don’t think there are any petai plantations around)if taken in moderation would surely yield many benefits. Seen an actual petai tree? Those who have will appreciate how they are harvested – it’s not like we can just stretch out our arms to pick a bunchful!
Hehe William. Thanks. Pssst! Don’t tell anyone, I have never eaten a single Petai! The smell just put me off, sorry Petai but I do appreciate nature. Thanks to The Creator. Btw, you are right, I have never seen a petai tree. I guess it’s about the same tree as those curly beans with red seeds, known locally as ’saga’? Also, I saw a canned petai in the grocery shop the other day. I read the ingredients: 99% petai and 1% salt. I have already imagined how it smell upon opening the lid. Cheers!
Hi Patrick. Mrs Rambling On and on… will do though my hubby is no Mr Ramble, an opposite actually. Your idea sound very illuminating to me but on a serious note, pls do drop me an email. I don’t know what’s got into me today. Apolgies Patrick. Hope to hear from you soon. E-mail welcome.
Hi Ramble On and William
Re: Petai tree…ok I have seen these petai trees, depending on the petai season where you can get as many bunches in one tree. Each bunch carry several strips of Petai pods (its similar to the peas pod, only abour 50 times bigger and longer) on it’s huge tree. The leaves of a petai tree is similar to that of a Tamarind tree. I will snap a picture of a petai tree when its in season, apparently there is no particular month for ‘harvesting’.
By the way, I enjoy reading all things Bruneian on your web! I am a non-bruneian but am working here for just over 3 years. Love every bit of Brunei. Its a gorgeous place, beautiful culture and heritage, peaceful and clean, except for Kampong Air, it must desire not to be in the opposite category though considering it’s been referred to as the Venice of SE Asia. Nevertheless, I am glad I decided to come to Brunei.
Wow Izamarina…I can already imagine a petai tree. Thanks for visiting my blog and living here in Brunei and loving it. Except for that Kampong Ayer… The relevant authority has produced a master-plan to improve Kampong Ayer, in fact the whole of Bandar…Just hope the whole re-development would be completed before you end your tenure here in blessed Brunei. All the best!
