While we are still in the subject on education, I found out this useful School-Terms calendar for 2009 from the MOE’s website, for planning purposes. I will put up a new page to include this calendar and Brunei’s public holidays for 2009.
school_terms_20091
In an nutshell:
- 200 days of schooling next year which is divided into four terms. This year we have one day more.
- 75 days of school holidays. This year we have two extra days.
I also heard that next year’s PMB or the Penilaian Menengah Bawah would be the last. No more PMB after 2009. Anyone can confirm on this please? Thanks.
Public exam dates:
8 Jan – 13 Jan: PSR repeat
8 May – 12 Jun: Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘O’, ‘AS’ and ‘A’ levels
14 – 16 Aug: Arabic School candidates selection
5 - 8 Oct: PSR
10 – 17 Oct: PMB
7 Oct – 20 Nov: Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘O’O, ‘AS’ and ‘A’ levels
18 – 26 Nov: Sijil Sekolah-Sekolah rendah Ugama Darjah VI or the Primary 6 Religious School Certificates
1 – 15 Oct: Sijil Pelajaran Ugama Brunei & Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Ugama Brunei
I cant help noticing that next year there would be:
- seven public holidays which fall on a Monday
- four public holidays which fall on a Saturday
- one public holiday on a Thursday.
You know what these mean? Hehe…
